
On October 13th, NCUST awarded the first 16 recipients of the National Principal Certificate for Equity and Excellence. This new certificate is designed to commend outstanding principals who have demonstrated impressive evidence of their impact on educational equity and excellence in the school they lead. The first recipients are principals who lead schools that are the 2020 winners of the America’s Best Urban Schools Award. Each of the principals helped their schools achieved multiple indicators of progress toward educational equity and excellence.

Simultaneously, NCUST announced another route through which principals and assistant principals could earn the National Principal Certificate for Equity and Excellence. This fall, NCUST is launching a program designed to support school leaders in establishing, pursuing, and achieving challenging equity goals. This 100% virtual program includes short courses, one-on-one coaching from NCUST executive coaches, and multiple opportunities to engage with leaders from high-performing urban schools.
