Stanley Munro Ed.D.

National Center for urban school transformation

EXECUTIVE COACH
Superintendent in Residence

Stanley Munro

Dr. Stanley Munro is a life-long learner and educator.  Throughout his 18-year professional career in education, he has faithfully served as a teacher, curriculum writer, job embedded professional developer, assistant principal, principal, executive director, and Superintendent. His record is one of student achievement based on an unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels.  The increases in student achievement across student target groups were the result of implementing PLC’s, a balanced literacy program to increase reading and writing skill development, staff maintaining a singular focus on delivering good first instruction, and using the data from formal and informal assessments to determine appropriate levels of support to ensure performance targets were met.

He is the recipient of the Christa McAuliffe Memorial Scholarship. However, his most important work has been that of a student advocate. All children have the right to maximize their greatest potential and every person on a campus has the responsibility to ensure that scholars know that they are valued in the school community and in the world at large.  Dr. Munro is committed to equipping each student with the 21st century job skills that higher education requires, and the global workforce will demand in order to compete and win in the digital marketplace.

Dr. Munro received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Master’s degrees in School Administration and Supervision, Teaching Mathematics, and as a Reading Specialist from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University.
