In 2009, the Kearny High School of International Business won NCUST’s America’s Best Urban School Award. Today, the entire Kearny High Educational Complex meets the America’s Best Urban School Award criteria. This comprehensive, diverse, inner-city high school outperforms the state of California on many academic indicators.

Visitors to the America’s Best Urban Schools Symposium will have the opportunity to participate in a session featuring Kearny leaders. Kearny educators have created a school where academic rigor is high, where the relevance to students’ lives is powerfully obvious, and where students feel a deep sense of belonging. What a great opportunity to learn about the factors that have influenced the educational success of thousands of students!
